I've almost got all the songs together to record another album. This is going to be my 10th time recording a collection of songs in this way. I'm very proud of all my work. I know not all of it is very good but they are my creations and I feel a strong attachment to them. They're a part of me. The new record will be the best stuff I've ever done even surpassing last year's "A Turbulent Time". Since this is the 10th Felix recording I wanted to do something special. This is going to be the first time I will have recorded vocals on every single track. I also want to get the original Felix and Friends lineup back together to write and record just one song. Thats a longshot but at least this record and every one after it will feature vocals by me.

I have 3 more songs to finish and then I can start recording

Here are the Details:

Title Possibilities:

"Don't Be a Stranger", "Orange Octagons", (Many others... still deciding)

The disclaimer from my previous post applies here too.

In the middle of this recording is a riff that is done in 3/4 time. It sounds somewhat like one of the parts that will go into the final version of the song. The final version will have a part done in 3/4 time because of its association with the waltz. What does the Waltz have to do with the song's meaning? Wait till the completed version with lyrics to find out.

The song is still untitled. Its still about a lot of things. Its still going to make you cry. I was playing around with some different effects, playing in different keys and just kind of noodling around with the song's basics. This is by no means the finished product. This is strictly noodling with the idea. I have some lyrics and they are much better than the music they go with so far. But believe me, when this song is done its going to be the greatest song I ever wrote. It doesn't seem like much right now but just wait. I feel the need to put a disclaimer on it because I've let people hear my noodlings before and they all criticize it as if I were trying to pass it off as a Top 40 single.

This morning I worked on my new song which I think is my masterpiece. I'm really excited about it. I know the sound bite isn't much and it sure doesn't sound like a masterpiece right now but when its done it'll blow you away. This is one of the four guitar parts which will appear somewhere in the song. I have a new working title, "Don't Be a Stranger". The title has two meanings. You can take it like the common expression used when people tell each other to keep in touch and it also means not to be a stranger literally. For example if you're walking down the street and you pass someone you don't know you are both strangers. So introduce yourself and stop being a stranger. Get it? Stupid, I know.

This is just a working title. The song doesn't have much at all to do with being a stranger. The name just came to me on the way to the pharmacy this morning. So don't judge the song by the title or this short guitar track, there is much more to it than this. I haven't even started to think about recording the final version yet. I'm just doing a lot of demos right now to see what type of audio trickery makes certain parts sound best.

Human unreadable captcha
Captcha sucks sometimes. It especially sucks when the picture doesn't even load. As a web developer I'm online a lot and I come across lots of crappy Captchas. Some of them are neither machine readable or human readable. I don't want to get eyestrain just so I can comment on your blog. Its not worth it. The official Captcha is the best, hands down. Some of these independently created ones really suck.
